Camilla Thomson, Chair

I am a Chancellor's Fellow in Energy researching the environmental impacts of energy systems and technologies. I am continuing in my role as committee Chair, and am really excited about the ideas and energy that the new members are bringing to the Initiative.

Anna Garcia-Teruel, External Liaison Officer and Acting Vice-Chair

I am a research associate in offshore renewable energy working on the next generation of offshore wind technologies & on design optimisation of wave energy converters. I remain in the committee, as external liaison officer and acting vice-chair, to continue to support the network and visibility of women in the School.

Mbayer Abunku

I am a final year PhD student in the Institute for Energy Systems researching the reliability of high temperature superconductors. I have enjoyed being a part of the first ever committee of the MFI. I have learnt a great deal about increasing female visibility and inclusivity in STEM and will continue to support the activities of MFI.

Sarah Dallas, Communications Officer

I am a third year PhD student in Bioengineering, researching the effect of vibrations on stem cells. While I am stepping down as communications officer for the Molly Fergusson Initiative, I am excited by the continued vision for the group, and the enthusiasm of all involved!

Christina MacLeod, Edinburgh Women in STEM Society liaison

I am an undergraduate mechanical engineering student, and spent the past year as the Edinburgh Women in STEM Society liaison. I am proud to have been a part of such an incredible group, and look forward to supporting future events.

Anushka Kapoor, Undergraduate Liaison Officer

I’m an outgoing MEng Chemical Engineering student, aiming to continue to promote the visibility of #womeninengineering in my career. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the wonderful members of the MFI committee as UG Liaison Officer and hope to continue to support any way I can!

Gunel Aghabayli, Undergraduate Liaison Officer

I'm a final year Doctoral Researcher at School of Engineering focusing on CO2 utilisation with the use of Low Carbon Energy. I joined to MFI as UG Liaison Officer in 2019 aiming to empower more women in STEM sciences working with UG students. Because Women do not have to feel additional pressure of being a women in STEM.

Maty Tall

I am a Power Systems Engineer working at the intersection of the low-carbon energy transition, gender, and social inclusion. I enjoyed being part of the MFI committee as an MSc Student and I look forward to continue supporting it focusing mainly on our upcoming blog, stay tuned!

Desen Kirli, Events Co-ordinator

I am a Sustainable Energy Engineer, pursuing a PhD in smart grids and local energy systems. It has been an amazing experience to be a founding committee member and also the Events Coordinator of the Molly Fergusson Initiative. I will continue to support MFI's journey to increase the visibility of women in engineering!
